If you think mens earrings are already out of style, you’re dead wrong. Unlike women’s earrings that are more versatile and constantly going out of trend, men’s earrings are more constant in fashion and may not go out of style any time soon. So, are men’s earrings out of style in 2022? The answer is no.

Earrings, and jewellery for men in general, are still in trend nowadays. Many men have enjoyed the idea of styling themselves with jewellery. It doesn’t matter if they got the lowest price for men’s diamond rings or the most expensive earrings. What matters the most is one’s style and preference.

That said, if you want to up your ante with earrings, you’re in luck. We will be discussing men’s earring trends in 2022 and how they can be the perfect earrings for you. Whether you’re planning to try out a new style, looking for the right pair of earrings for yourself, or making a statement, you’ll find something here.

Hoops

Mens hoop Earrings

Hoops are arguably one of the most popular types of men’s earrings that are considered constant and won’t go out of style any time soon. Whenever you see hoop earrings, you’ll be reminded of the time when David Beckham used to wear one.

Not only him, though, as over the years, many male celebrities are also seen wearing hoop earrings, which contributed to its popularity today.

While they aren’t as versatile and more adventurous as stud earrings, they are certainly more comfortable and easier to wear. They’re also known as sleeper earrings because you can still wear them comfortably during your sleep. This is because hoop earrings don’t have any metallic post that can prick you while you sleep, and the smooth surface won’t irritate your skin either.

Stud Earrings

Studs are the most basic type of earring and are the most likely type that will be introduced to you once you get your ears pierced. Stud earrings have the classic style, where the post goes through your piercing and is secured by a clasp at the end of it. It may be a basic style of earring, but it’s not as boring as you think. People think this because it’s the most common type of men’s earrings as a lot of men still wear them nowadays.

studs are popular mens earrings for 2022

After you get your ears pierced, the recommended stud earrings that’ll maintain your piercing will stay with you for about eight weeks.

This is to secure the formation of the hole and to avoid its closure, regardless of the type of earrings you want. After the hole heals, you can choose any type of earrings. However, a lot of people stay with stud earrings because they’re already comfortable with it.

Stud earrings can complement any fashion style men have. Studs come in all shapes and sizes, and the materials they’re made of are sterling silver, white gold, platinum, and surgical plastic.

The type of adornment that will add style to your earrings is also important. It can be made with different materials too, such as gemstones, gold, silver, or even stainless steel.

Barbell Earrings

This earring is as straightforward as you might expect. After all, they’re called barbell earrings because they look like barbells, albeit smaller in size and can fit your ear piercings. There are three types of barbell earrings: straight barbells, curved barbells, and horseshoe.

Barbell earrings can also be used in different types of body piercing, which is why they’re also popular with body piercing enthusiasts. For example, if you have a cartilage piercing, you can try out straight barbells with a smaller gauge for comfort.

If you’re into tragus piercing, you can try using long straight barbells. Barbell piercing has a screw end feature, which makes it secure for tragus piercings. If you’re looking for adornments for your hip and lip piercings, you can try curved barbells, which have a slight curve in the middle secured by two adornments on either end. For septum piercings or cartilage, a  horseshoe that looks like cuff bracelets is an optimal choice.

Dangly Earrings

If you’re looking to make a huge impression with your fashion statement, dangly earrings can help you with that. Dangly earrings are far bolder than hoops or studs- great for people who want to show off their bling. The most common designs for dangly earrings are crosses, feathers, chains, or pearls.

If you want to see them in action, you can look up pictures of Lil Nas X, Neymar, or Harry Styles. They are just some of the celebrities that use dangly piercings. However, one of the downsides of dangly earrings is they are usually heavy, which can strain your piercing. They are also not usually appropriate within a work environment.

Conclusion for mens earrings for 2022

Gone are the days where men who wear earrings are considered unusual. However, unlike women’s more versatile earrings, men’s earrings are limited, relatively.  But that doesn’t mean that there’s no way for men to choose which earring is perfect for them as it all comes down to personal preference.

That said, if you’re looking to up your fashion sense, choosing from the types of earrings above will be in your best interest.

Ear piercings and body piercings are very common beauty accessories for all ages and genders. Buyers have a wide range of earrings to choose from but it is advised to invest in best quality jewellery. But many people want to know how long does it take for a ear piercing to close.

The main issues that people ask themselves are: How long do I have to leave my studs in before changing them? How long will my ear piercings take to heal? What can I do to help my ears heal? Will the ear-piercing close up overnight if the earring is removed?

With men’s earring still in trend, ear piercings can be safe and simple to get done but they are guidelines that will need to be followed for the piercing to be completed properly and to make sure the opening stays for easy use.

Furthermore, piercings are the latest trend, and this means you might be keen on some earrings you just spotted. Consequently, you would want to know how soon you can remove the pierced earrings and then when to wear the new ones you just purchased without agonizing over if that piercing will close up or not.

And ear piercing to answer the question How long does it take for an ear piercing to close?
People of any age can get their ears pierced

Will your earring holes close up overnight?

For the most part, you would need to wear the hoops put in during piercing until your stud openings close up well. Within the first week, removing the first pierced earrings before the hole heals would lead to the closing up of the ear piercing.

You would need to remember that various kinds of ear piercings take different times to heal so before you decide to remove the stud out, you should make sure the area around your piercing has completed healed. As a guideline example, ear lobe piercings take approximately 6 weeks to heal but you still would need to be careful after the duration of time.

There are around 15 places around your ear that you can make a hole in. These include the lobe, upward along the outer cartilage, inward along the part of the ear attached to your head and several places in the centre. You have the option to choose where you feel the piercing would be comfortable in your ear.

For a healthy and quick healing process, particularly when you need to make more than one piercing at one time, we suggest that you get no more than 3 piercings. Restricting the number of piercings to 3 means that they will heal properly, and you’ll be able to manage the pain more easily.

How long do ear piercings take to heal?

A channel is made through your skin during piercing, and the body will create skin cells/epithelial cells along the pierced stud during the healing process. When new cells have been created right down the length of the piercing and around the stud, the epithelial cells will develop into a fistula/tube.

The fully developed fistula/tube could remain open for quite a long time (ranging from years to months) after the jewellery removal. Some of the fistulas developed are heartier and thicker than others.

How long does it take for a piercing to close?

Regardless where on the body it is, the fresher the piercing, the quicker it closes over if left open to do so. Note that ear, navel, and nipple piercings regularly remain open for life since there is no mucosa in the hole’s inner lining.

Side note, you should not re-pierce the same hole as it would increase the risk of infection and would increase the healing process.

Why does my ear piercing close so fast? (overnight or after few days)

Another ear-piercing may close quickly, either overnight or after a couple of days if the stud or jewellery is not held in the hole. The primary reason why this would happen to you is that the pierced ear had not healed completely. As referenced above, skin cells, called epithelial cells (and epithelial tissue), should initially develop around the piercing before the fistula creates and develops around the earring.

In case you get the stud out too early before it completely heals, the epithelial tissue from the opposite side of the piercing would fuse and the hole will close up. The healing time of an earlobe piercing could be around 4 to 6 weeks whereas the healing time for a cartilage piercing would take much longer to heal.

To get a shorter healing time for an ear piercing, don’t move the stud/earring, don’t irritate the ear and clean the area as directed for the first 24 hrs.

My ear piercing closed overnight, what should I do?

You may have followed the professionals advice strictly and the piercing may look healed but potentially despite many years of healing, wearing clip-on hoop earrings for a few months could lead to the piercing closing up overnight.

What should you do if this happens?

You’ll have to see what type of closed piercing you have to work with. The piercing could be either partially closed off (the top or bottom half could be closed up) or completely closed off.

If the closure is partial, you may be able to put an earring through from either side. If it has closed fully then we would advise you to seek professional help to re-open your piercing.

How to close ear piercing hole permanently

Larger holes or tears may need sewing up, but usually if you take all jewellery out any holes in the ear lobe or septum will heal although time will vary based on how recent the piercing is. To avoid infection, try to keep the area clean with saline solution.

Conclusion on how long does it take for an ear piercing to close

Managing a closed piercing may be stressful but the above advice should help

The most terrible issues that could occur, other than diseases, include unsightly scarring, extra scar tissue, and you’ll never be able to have a piercing in the same area.

If the closure is hard to cope with, get women or men’s clip-on hoop earrings or ideally a stud that you can easily sit in and let the piercing heal. You can also expand the size of the stud a long time after the healing to lessen the possibility of closure.

Do ear piercings hurt?

Yes, getting an ear piercing can be painful as the needle or piercing gun is creating a small hole in the earlobe or ear cartilage. The level of pain can vary depending on individual pain tolerance, the location of the piercing, and the method used for piercing.

Generally, the initial piercing can cause a quick and sharp sensation of pain, followed by a dull ache or soreness for a few days. However, the pain is usually temporary and can be managed with proper aftercare, applying saline solution, and avoiding water.

It’s crucial to have your ear piercing done by a professional piercer who follows proper hygiene practices to minimize the risk of infection and complications. Ironically, the best tend to be at a tattoo studio. Tattooing also pierces the skin, so the in-house tattoo artist will give genuine expert advice on how to care for your piercing holes, how to keep the wound sterile, and cleaning techniques to stop crust or swelling.

Do ear piercings close?

Yes, nose or ear piercings can close if the jewellery is removed and the piercing is left empty for an extended period of time, usually weeks or months. How quickly a piercing fully closes can vary depending on the size of the hole, location of the body-piercing, individual and the specific piercing.

Will my ear piercing close up overnight?

It is possible for an ear piercing to close up overnight if still in the healing stage. If you are concerned about your ear piercing closing up, it is best to consult with professional piercers or healthcare provider for guidance.

How long can you leave earrings out before the hole closes?

Again, this is done to how new the piercing is, but fresh piercings can close overnight. Older ones can take weeks, months or years though.

How long does it take for earring holes to close?

The time it takes for earring holes to close varies from person to person, and how recent the piercing is. Generally, if you have recently removed your earrings and your ear piercing is fully healed, it may take 4-6 weeks for the hole to close up. It’s good to wash it with soap and warm water to limit infection.

Tongue piercings are about the same, but need to be washed daily with a sea salt rinse, cleaning after meals is advised.

The following is a guide to help you find the best gold bracelet for women, especially if you are shopping for Valentine’s Day gifts.

1.      Karat

Karat signifies the purity of the gold. The purest gold used to make jewellery is usually 22 karats. There are 10, 12, 14 and 18 karats gold as well. Since karat signifies the gold’s purity, a 14 karat gold will be cheaper than a 22 one. Therefore, before you buy your gold bracelet, it is essential to know the purity you are looking for.

2.      Design of the bracelet

There are so many designs for women’s bracelets. There are solid gold bracelets, while some are accessorized with metallic colours and different gemstones. Also, you can find a patterned texture. The design you select depends on your interest or the occasion.

If you are not sure of the design to buy, ask a professional to guide you. Also, you can take the time to check various designs on the web.

3.      Size

The size of the gold bracelet matters a lot. When selecting a gold bracelet for women, ensure it fits your wrist perfectly. Gold is expensive. Also, wearing it symbolizes class and elegance. Therefore, you would not want to embarrass yourself by selecting a bracelet that is either too tight or too loose.

Since the sizes of wrists vary, it is crucial to measure your wrist to select the right fit. Also, make sure you check how thick and weighty the bracelet is before you buy it.

4.      Alloys and colours

Pure gold is 24 karat, but it can get damaged easily because it is soft. So, it should be mixed with other metals to make it stronger. It is essential to know other alloys of gold before you buy your bracelet. Some of the common alloys and colours include:

Yellow gold– this is the most common form of gold. It is highly purchased because it makes people feel classy because gold is yellow. However, not all yellow jewellery is made of gold. Others are just coated to make them appear authentic. Therefore, you must be very cautious when buying your yellow-gold bracelet.

White gold– white gold looks like silver, but brighter. It is also famous and can be paired with yellow gold for a beautiful, unique tone.

Rose gold– this is a gold alloy that has a pinkish colour. It is mostly used for engagement rings, but it is becoming popular for bracelets as well.

Green gold– this is a very rare gold alloy. It features a mix of silver and gold to make it have a bright greenish-yellow colour.

5.      Finding a seller

Once you know the size, purity, and gold alloys, it is time to look for a reputable seller. If you are shopping on the web, you will come across so many gold bracelets vendors that promise quality products. However, you cannot tell whether the vendor is genuine or not until you take the time to check their websites and even get recommendations.

6.      Compare prices

Once you find a seller, do not pay before you get more quotations from other sellers. Different sellers price their gold bracelets differently. So, check different rates before you select a particular vendor.

Conclusion

So many bracelets designs are available in the market. However, gold bracelets come with class and elegance. You can never go wrong with gold because you can use it for both formal and casual wear. Also, all its alloys are classy and exceptionally beautiful. That is why gold jewellery remains the trendsetter in the beauty industry.

However, in case you’re on more of a budget, or you’re looking for a more alternative way to express your sense of fashion, why not create your own bracelet? Brands like The Bead Shop are perfect for those looking to make their own jewellery, including bracelets, and much more.

A silver ring can never steer you wrong. It is beautiful, elegant and goes with everything. The icing on the cake? It is durable. So, if you are looking to build a nice jewellery collection then include a sterling silver ring or two in there. And choosing your sterling silver ring is very easy with our guide.

There are some very good reasons why sterling silver has grown rapidly in popularity. First off, silver has a most alluring lustre that many people find hard to resist. It is also easy to customize the silver ring to suit any style and stay trendy. Not to mention that is easy to combine with the right nail polish (take a look at this one from Coteshop for an instance)

However, sterling silver rings don’t come cheap. Therefore, if you are looking at silver rings for women, know that they will cost you. Nevertheless, they are a great investment that you can pass down the generations.

What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% metal alloy. The alloy is mainly copper and it helps to make silver, which is naturally soft, stronger. This helps to make sterling silver jewellery durable which makes it a very popular choice of metal for wedding rings.

Choosing Your Sterling Silver Ring

What to Consider Before Buying Your Silver Ring

Here are a few important factors you should consider before you splash out on that silver ring fashion accessory.

1.      Quality

This is a long-term investment as sterling silver is durable. You will be wearing your ring for a long time to come. Also, it is a great option for the following reasons:

  • It is hypoallergenic meaning it will not cause reactions such as skin irritation
  • It is alluringly beautiful
  • It is easy to customize to fit various styles
  • It is available in all trending styles
  • It can be combined with other metals and gemstones such as gold and diamonds

2.      The Size

You want to be able to wear your ring. Therefore, the size of the ring matters. Naturally, the size you choose depends on the size of your finger.

A ring that is too loose will be cumbersome and there is always the possibility of losing it. The best option is to choose one that fits just right. Also, do not burden your finger with a ring that looks too bulky especially if your fingers are slender.

resize silver ring

3.      Resizing

Your fingers may change in size in the future. Also, it may be inherited by someone with bigger or smaller fingers. Ask your jeweller if your ring can be resized if the proportions change. Many rings are designed in such a manner that they can be made bigger or smaller if the need arises.

4.      The Width of Your Ring Band

A very important part of choosing your sterling silver ring. If it is too wide, it may inhibit the movement of your fingers. On the flip side, if it is too thin, it may easily break. Ensure that you get one that is neither too wide nor too thin to ensure comfort and longevity.

5.      The Weight of the Ring

If you want a gemstone on your sterling silver ring, check its weight. A heavy stone makes your ring move around the finger which can be uncomfortable. You are always conscious of the movement. Also, ensure the size agrees with the body of your ring.

6.      Maintenance

Sterling silver is durable but it requires some maintenance. It must be polished occasionally to keep it glossy and beautiful. As you make your choice, be sure to go for the one you can easily maintain.

You should be able to reach all parts while cleaning it. Moreover, the setting must allow you to clean and polish your ring effortlessly.

7.      Warranties and Guarantees

A sterling silver ring doesn’t come cheap. Ensure you get a warranty or guarantee from your jeweller. There should be a service plan that will aid in the maintenance of your ring. If you are making your purchase online, ensure the retailer has a good return policy in case you don’t like what they deliver.

Conclusion for choosing your Sterling Silver Ring

With these considerations, buying your silver ring should be a cinch. You will buy a good ring that is the right size and easy to maintain. Also, it will come with a good warranty and return policy.
